The president of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Samir Captan is optimistic Joseph Agbeko will defeat Mexican Abner Mares for the IBF bantamweight title.

The outcome of the first bout between the two dominant bantamweight fighters is what makes this second meeting the most anticipated boxing match in the last quarter of 2011.

Captan in an interview with JOY Sports stated that, Agbeko is capable of beating mares for the title and urged him to concentrate and focus on the fight.

“I believe with concentration and prayers, he will win his title back”. Said Captan
The final news conference of the bout was held yesterday with the final weigh inn expected tomorrow at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California where the fight will be staged.

A win in this bout will mean Agbeko will re-annex the IBF bantamweight title in addition to the WBC silver title which is in the firm grips of the Mexican.
