After a proposed move to Corinthians broke down, the Argentine remains part of Mancini’s squad and the Italian manager says he will play as long as he is on the books.
“Carlos comes back Monday, because he had 21 days off after the Copa America,” Mancini told Sky Sports News.
“That was the agreement with him.
“Carlos is a City player. At the moment we don’t have any news about other teams, so Carlos will play for Manchester City.”
Mancini is not concerned either by Mario Balotelli’s recent comments that he is struggling to settle in Manchester.
“Mario’s the same, he’s not changed,” said the former Inter boss.
“I think he maybe wanted to say that he was missing his family and his friends.
“I’ve spoken with him many times and he loves the supporters, he loves his team-mates, and he likes to play in the Barclays Premier League.
“He’s young, he’s only 21 years old, and he’s maybe missing his family.
“When you start to play football, you are a professional player, and this situation can happen if you want to go and play in a different country. It’s normal.”
Balotelli has been a controversial figure since arriving at the club, and had recently attracted criticism from Mancini for not taking a pre-season match seriously.
