Over the years, the Ghana Community Network Services Limited (GCNet) has provided annual support to the Ghana Heart Foundation as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Although the Ghana Heart Foundation does not fall under GCNet’s focal area of support, GCNet has identified it as providing the healthcare needs of the vulnerable in society.
The donation of GH¢10,000, which was made on July 14, 2011, was to support this cause.
GCNet, as an organization of excellence in the application of technology in Revenue Mobilization and Trade Facilitation, identifies itself as having something in common with the Ghana Heart Foundation which is also a centre of excellence in healthcare delivery.
Presenting the cheque, the Board Chairman of GCNet, Dr. Nortey Omaboe, commended the Foundation for the support it gives to the needy through such corporate donations and expressed hope that other organizations will emulate GCNet.
Receiving the cheque, the President of the Ghana Heart Foundation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng expressed his gratitude to GCNet and assured that the money will be used by the Foundation for its intended purpose.
