Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has apparently given the strongest indication yet of his desire to leave the club after exiting the Emirates Stadium at half-time of their pre-season friendly against Boca Juniors, according to The Mail on Sunday.
Fabregas was apparently escorted away from the stadium at the interval, as he was keen to avoid all questions about his future and speculation linking him to a return to his boyhood club, Barcelona.
However, manager Arsene Wenger was keen to avoid discussing Fabregas’ departure after the match, which finished 2-2, telling reporters: “Cesc was at the game today.
“Nothing has moved either one way or the other since Friday, and there is no specific deadline before August 31, it is not like shooting a shuttle into space.
“Cesc loves this club deeply and he loves Barcelona deeply, too.
“An honest player can love two clubs.
“But he cares deeply about this club and that is why I hope we can keep him.”
A silver Jaguar was apparently waiting for Fabregas further down the street, and there is speculation about whether he left of his own volition, was ordered to leave by Wenger or had been sent for further negotiations with Barcelona.
