Chief Executive of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo says John Kumah, Spokesperson for the Young Patriots (a youth wing of the New Patriotic Party), justly received his comeuppance for talking “foolishly” on-air anytime he is offered the opportunity.

“If you sit in a radio studio and you accuse the president of being a homosexual without any evidence, isn’t this foolish talk?” he asked.

He had therefore wished that the police dealt seriously with him, if in the aftermath of their investigations, it is proven John Kumah had no evidence to support the wild allegations he bandied about on radio regarding President Mills’ sexual preference.

He was speaking in relation to the arrest of the outspoken NPP youth activist by security officers for allegedly slighting President Mills. His wish, however, failed to became a reality as the police released the NPP Youth activist based on directives from the President.

John Kumah is reported to have inferred last week on an Accra based radio station during a political discussion programme that President Mills was gay. According to him, the president had been reported to be sharing the same room with an adviser and asked whether that meant the president was also a homosexual. He admitted passing those comments but denies labeling President Mills as gay, stressing that it was in response to similar remarks made by an NDC activist on the program that the NPP MP for Okaikoi South, Hon. Nana Akomea practices homosexuality whiles Nana Akufo-Addo, the party’s flagbearer for the 2012 General Elections was a womanizer.

“The NDC member on the show accused Nana Addo of being a homosexual…and I also replied that Thanks be to God that our flagbearer is straight regarding his sexual preference, unlike some people…that was exactly what I said…I never claim President Mills was gay…they (NDC) choose to understand it that way, a perfect scenario of who the cap fits…,” John Kumah told PeaceFM News moments after his release.
