JOSEPH KOFI Adda, Member of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central, has commended the Upper East Regional Team that participated in the just-ended National Unity Games in Accra.

He indicated that even in the midst of many challenges the team had shown that they are champions.

He particularly praised three members of the boxing team, all of them from Navrongo, for winning medals for the Upper East region.

Stephen Amena and Razak Adams won silver medals in the heavyweight and flyweight divisions respectively, while Ernest Kwokwangu took bronze in the bantamweight.

Congratulating the trio at the Accra Hockey Pitch immediately after the closing ceremony of the Unity Games, the Navrongo Central MP said, “You people have made Navrongo and the region as a whole proud and I urge you on to win more laurels for us in future”.

The athletes in turn thanked Mr. Adda for giving them financial support.

It would be recalled that the Navrongo Central MP presented a cash donation of GH¢1,000 to Mr. Ewuntomah Iddrisu, Upper East Regional Director of Sports to help him take care of his team when they faced some difficulties during their stay at the University of Ghana, Legon, campus.
