The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) has disconnected power supply to the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in Katsina over the non-payment of an outstanding bill of N200,000.
Following the disconnection, the office of the News Agency Nigeria (NAN), which gets its power supply from the NTA transformer, has also been affected in the last one month.
The PHCN Business Manager in Katsina, Alhaji Sale Abdu, told NAN in Katsina on Thursday that the company disconnected the television station following its inability to offset the outstanding debt.
Effort to contact the NTA General Manager in Katsina, Alhaji Musa Magaji, failed as he was said to have travelled out of the state for an official engagement while the acting Generla Manager, Alhaji Garba Bako, declined comment. (NAN).
