Ghana winger Andre Ayew scored a hat trick as Olympique Marseille rallied from a two goals down to beat champions Lille 5-4 in the French Super Cup in Tangier, Morocco.

The 21-year-old halved the deficit on the 71st minute for Marseille before converting two last-minute penalties to help Didier Deschamps’ men retain the trophy they won last season.

Midfielder Florent Balmont drew first blood for Lille after nine minutes before Belgium international Eden Hazard doubled the scoring twelve minutes into the second half.

Ayew rounded up Mickaël Landreau after Lucho had played him through to reduce the deficit on the 71st minute.

But Senegalese international Moussa Sow increased Lille’s a minute later. Substitute Jordan Ayew was involved in a nice sequence of play that saw Jérémy Morel score on the 85th minute for Marseille.

Loic Remy then levelled the scoring for Marseille two minutes later.
Andre then converted a 90th minute penalty but Marko Baša scored again to make the scoring 4-4. Ayew then converted another penalty on the 90th minute to win the trophy for Marseille.

Andre was voted the most valuable player of the game.
