Queens Park Rangers attacker Adel Taarabt is still keen on joining Paris Saint-Germain, despite the insistence of his current club that he would remain in London.

On Saturday the Premier League new boys released a statement claiming the 22-year-old Morocco international was not being sold, after receiving numerous bids, including an approach from the Ligue 1 outfit.

Taarabt still appears keen on moving back to France, having featured for Lens in the past, but admitted that the deal must happen soon or he will commence preparations for the new campaign with QPR.

Speaking to L’Equipe, the midfielder said: “Up until now the two clubs were not able to strike an agreement.

“I would like to go to Paris, but if it does not happen this weekend, then it will never happen. My team-mates will be leaving for a tour on Monday and I am still under contract.

“I have to respect my team as I am the captain there and I have to prepare for the new season with them.”
