Manchester City face a major battle to prise Daniele De Rossi away from AS Roma.
Reports suggest City have offered De Rossi a stunning €9 million-a-year – net – to quit Roma this summer.
However, before the offer arrived, De Rossi had confided to friends he was searching for a new apartment in Rome, with his current homebase proving too noisy.
De Rossi also has just bought a penthouse on the seafront in Ostia.
