Malta Guinness Hosts Africa’s Top Street Dance Crew

Ghana Plays host to the Malta Guinness Street Dance Pan African championships for the second year running.

The most prestigious dance competition on the continent will showcase talent from seven African countries battling it out for fame, honour and national pride at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, August 5, 2011.

This year, the Malta Guinness Street dance competition took on a whole new and higher level of skill with the introduction of a thrilling reality series that saw the dramatic eviction of dance crews by top celebrity judges until only two dance crews were left standing.

The responsibility of choosing a national winner has now been handed over to the Ghanaian public to decide through SMS votes, which of the two dance crews would represent Ghana at the upcoming Pan African competition.

Over the last few weeks the nation has voted in their thousands, showing support for either Bugi-bust or Revolution Dance Crew by texting their favourite dance crews to the short code 1458.

Excitement is building up as Africa’s number one street dance crews from Cameroun, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania prepare to join their Ghanaian counterparts in Accra by 22nd of July 2011, with one thing on their minds – becoming Africa’s Malta Guinness Street Dance Pan African champions and winning the $36,000 prize money at stake.

As these dance crews from the seven African countries arrive, they will go into a boot camp where they will face special dance challenges, work with top international choreographers and show off their skills in front of a panel of expert judges, with the hope of winning the enviable trophy.
