Arsenal
Arsene Wenger
Everton
Everton have set their asking price for defender Phil Jagielka.
The Daily Mail says Arsenal will have to offer around £18million to prise Jagielka from Everton after having a near-£12m approach rejected.
Goodison Park boss David Moyes turned down an identical offer from them last year and had no hesitation in giving the same reply to Arsene Wenger’s latest attempt to land the England centre back.
The onus is on the Arsenal manager to go back with an improved bid, and he could solve one of his most pressing needs if he comes close to Everton’s valuation.
Though reluctant to part with his defensive linchpin, Moyes knows he has to sell to fund his own buys.
