Anne Mansouret, 65, said Strauss-Kahn “took me with the vulgarity of a soldier” when they were both working for the socialist party of France.
Just three years after their affair in 2000, Strauss-Kahn allegedly tried to force himself on to Ms Mansouret’s daughter Tristane Banon, 32.
Ms Banon claims Strauss-Kahn behaved like a “rutting chimpanzee” as he tried to pull her clothes off in a Paris flat. But she said her mother convinced her not to file charges at the time. Strauss-Kahn is on bail in New York over claims he tried to rape a hotel maid. The charges against him look likely to be dropped but he faces an investigation for the attempted rape of Ms Banon once he returns to France.
Ms Manouret’s affair with Strauss-Kahn emerged in a six-hour interview with police. At the time of their tryst Ms Manouret — a three-time divorcee and radical feminist — was the best friend of Strauss-Kahn’s then wife Brigitte Guillemette.
Ms Mansouret also claims Strauss-Kahn apologised to her for trying to attack her daughter. Attempted rape carries up to 15 years in jail.
Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers said he intended to sue Ms Banon for slander, adding that the alleged events were “imaginary”.
