Eagles’ fringe player, Gbolahon Salami has signed for South Africa side Mamelodi Sundowns ending a long standing transfer saga between his former clubs Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Salami who was in the class of the 2007 Flying Eagles signed as a free agent after his contract with Shooting stars came to an end.
Last February the the 20-year-old was banned for 12 months by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) earlier this year after he attempted to attack a referee during an NPL match in January. However, a few weeks later the ban was lifted.
He is known as a fiery character with both opponents and teammates, and will likely have to tone down his actions if he is to fit in at Chloorkop.
