BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea youngsters Josh McEachran and Ryan Bertrand sign new deals

Chelsea players Josh McEachran and Ryan Bertrand have signed new long-term deals to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The duo have committed their futures to the club, with McEachran signing for five years and Bertrand four.

This marks the first transfer activity since new manager Andre Villas-Boas took charge, as Chelsea look to invest in their youth players instead of relying on big money signings from owner Roman Abramovich.

For McEachran, his new deal continues his impressive rise through the Chelsea ranks as he looks to build upon his breakthrough season.

The 18-year-old is seen as one of the brightest young talents in English football and is expected to have a bright future ahead of him.

He made his debut in a Champions League tie in Slovakia in September, coming on from the bench, but did not start his first league game until the final home match against Newcastle.

In total, he made 17 appearances for the club, although 13 of those were from the substitutes bench.
