One Mamudou Jallow was on Tuesday 11th July 2011 arraigned and charged at the Brikama Magistrates Court presided over by Magistrate Baboucarr Secka with the offence of rash and negligent act, causing death contrary to Section 221 (A) of Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.
The particulars of the offence stated that on or about 7th July 2011 in Sotokoi Village, Kombo East District of West Coast Region, the accused drove a vehicle with registration number BJL 8448G in a rash and negligent manner, thereby causing the death of one Saikou Tamba. When the charge was read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of D50,000 with one Gambian surety.
The police prosecutor handling the case, 1320 Bojang applied for an adjournment to call his witnesses. The case was then adjourned to 11 August, 2011 for hearing.
