The ministry of special programs is holding talks with line ministries to come up with a plan of dealing with the food crisis in case donors fail to send donations.
Special programs assistant minister Mohamud Ali says the government had expected donors to help out after the president declared the situation a national disaster but so far no support has been received.
He says the government has been forced to release food from the national grain reserves to ease the burden of the escalating food prices.
Ali is however hopeful that the international community will step in and try to help the government deal with the disaster.
