Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is interested in signing Manchester United defensive pair John O’Shea and Wes Brown, according to The Mirror.

Sunderland had been linked with a move for the Red Devils duo, as well as midfielder Darron Gibson, but the Potters hope to beat the Black Cats to their signatures.

Steve Bruce’s side still hope to complete a deal for the pair, although a move for Brown may prove to be difficult as he would prefer to stay in the north-west.

O’Shea is now weighing up his options after his agent spoke to Stoke regarding a move, but the Potters now appear to be serious contenders to sign the pair after delayed negotiations with Sunderland.
