“I am happy to tell you that, since last year, there has been a significant increase of the support we have received from this region in terms of business and I would like to thank all of you for being part of that support” said Gitahi.

He called on leaders of Nyeri County to seriously think of putting in place structures which will give guidelines on how the County will be governed by those who will have been elected into positions of leadership in the County.

“As leaders in various sectors, we need to seriously think of how Nyeri as a County will function in the new dispensation instead of preoccupying ourselves with the thoughts of who and which leadership positions we should go for” said Gitahi.

Nyeri Golf Club chairman Daniel Wamahiu thanked the Nation for the support it has offered into the development of the game of golf not only to the Mount Kenya region but the whole country.

Speaking at the same function KGU chairman Mwaniki Gachoka who donated golf equipment to Nyeri Golf Club to be used by junior golfers, said the union had already drawn up a programme for junior golf development in the country.
