Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has dismissed the reports linking Mathieu Valbuena with Arsenal as “typical transfer window rumours”.

A report on Sunday suggested that Arsenal are considering making a move for Valbuena in the event Samir Nasri leaves the London side, but his agent told Goal.com shortly after that the Marseille star has an ongoing contract and is currently focused only on the Ligue 1 club.

“This is just one of those typical transfer window rumours. There are numerous fantasy stories like this doing the rounds in this period,” Deschamps was quoted as saying by La Provence.

“Mathieu has developed into a full international here and is a player with a lot of quality. However, I have been here for two years now and we have not received a single concrete offer. If an interesting offer comes in, we will certainly consider it, but this is not the case as of now.”

The 26-year-old has a contract until the summer of 2014 and an offer in the region of €15 million (£13.5m) could be needed to lure the France international away from the Stade Velodrome.
