Army Pledges Commitment to Fight Illegal Immigration

    Lubango — The national army pledged commitment to a continued assistance to the concerned organs in preventing the ongoing entry of illegal foreigners into the country.

    The assurance came from the commander of Army, the organ belonging to the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), general Lúcio Gonçalves do Amaral, while delivering Friday his speech at the opening of the 17th Superior Council of the Army, held in southern Huila province.

    According to the FAA senior officer, in some cases the illegal immigration is facilitated by national citizens, a fact that contributes to destabilisation of national economy.

    The general who defended the creation of conditions for the staff, also said that the rebuilding process of FAA and Army underway continue yielding practical effects.

    The 17th Superior Council gathers commanders of military commands of Cabinda, North, East and Centre regions, national police, among the guests.
