Tottenham prospect and England under-21 international Steven Caulker has agreed to join Swansea on a season-long loan.
Spurs have also announced that the centre-back has extended his deal at White Hart Lane until 2014.
Caulker has spent the last two seasons out on loan with a spell at League One’s Yeovil Town, where he won a player of the year award, followed by an equally successful stint with Bristol City in the Championship.
Spurs will oversee his progression to the Premier League with Swansea, who are making their debut in the competition.
The London-born defender missed out on England’s under-21 squad for the European Championships this summer due to an injury but was expected to feature.
He has made just one appearance for Spurs, in the League Cup, but will be looking to establish himself under Brendan Rogers this season as the Swans fight to stay in the top flight.
