Neymar is likely to remain with Santos for the Club World Cup in December, according to his agent Wagner Ribeiro, who suggests a summer transfer is off the cards.
His comments come just 24 hours after Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro declared the 19-year-old striker would not be leaving, despite saying days earlier that five European clubs were entitled to speak to the player.
Talking to Globoesporte, agent Ribeiro said: “Neymar only wants to be Club World Cup champion with Santos.
“But it’s in his hands. There are clubs willing to pay the €45 million £40.6m release clause.”
Real Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona have all been rumoured to be after the Brazilian ace.
But the Copa Libertadores champions have already made it clear that they want to keep him “for many years”.
It is said they will discuss his future after the Copa America in Argentina which begins this evening.
