The benefits of the Sh100 million Siakago constituency water project have began trickling down. Families in Gitiburi location, used to crocodile attacks while in search of river water, are relieved they do not have to trek for kilometres to face the ferocious beasts.

MP Lenny Kivuti yesterday inaugurated the Mbeere North District Water Master plan by officially opening seven water vending kiosks. The villagers will have to pay Sh3 for every 10 litre container.

The MP said he had no alternative but to invest a large amount of CDF into the water project it is the biggest problem for his constituents. Kivuti said it was disappointing his constituency is home to most of the Seven Forks hydroelectricity producing dams of Kiambere, Masinga, Gitaru, Kindaruma, but they no drinking water.

Because of scarcity, the number of crocodile attacks has soared and made his constituency home to the largest number of maimed survivors.
