Anyim Reassures Citizens on Security

Abuja — Secretary to Government of the Federation (SFG), Anyim Pius Anyim, has reassured Nigerians that government would do all that was possible to guarantee their safety.

He said the administration was taking practical steps to address the security challenges which have claimed several lives and loss of property in parts of the country in recent times.

Security concerns in the country took a more worrisome dimension when a suicide bomber, Manga Mohammed, suspected to be a member of the Boko Haram sect attacked the police headquarters in Abuja.

Ayim spoke at a reception organised by the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to honour scores of its athletes that worn laurels in local in international championships in the past two year.

He was represented at the occasion by Permanent Secretary in the Office of Head of Service of the Federation (HOSF), Rabi Jimeta.

Anyim reiterated that the unity of the country which was dearly fought for by its forefathers would not be compromised, just as he stressed that security is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

“This administration is taking practical steps to address the security challenges and I want to assure all Nigerians that government is doing everything possible to guarantee security of lives and property of citizens”, Anyim said.

While commending the Corps Commandant-General, Ade Abolurin, and the NSCDC for meeting the nation’s security challenges, the SGF reassured of government’s support in the quest to bring honour to the country through sports.
