A prison warder yesterday denied defiling a school girl in Murang’a town. Erick Mithika allegedly committed the offence on June 25. He is said to have attempted to rape the standard 8 pupil while holding a knife.
The court heard that The girl, who was heading to school, raised the alarm attracting passersby who pounced on the suspect. Mithika was arrested a few minutes later by officers from Murang’a police station.
He was released by Murang’a Principal magistrate Antony Kaniaru on a cash bond of Sh100, 000 and a surelity of the same amount.
The case will be heard on August 25.
