Two Government Soldiers Killed in Mogadishu Roadside Bomb

Mogadishu — At least two Somali government soldiers died and four other hurt in Mogadishu roadside bomb attack, witnesses and officials said Tuesday.

A witness confirmed Shabelle Radio the death of Somali soldiers in the attack, adding that the attack took place in the vicinity of Ex-Control Afgoye just outside of Mogadishu.

Some reports suggested that the death toll may increase in the hours to come. However, the bomb exploded while some of Somali soldiers were making search operations there.

Ahmed Abdullahi, Somali military officer at the checkpoint said in short interview with Shabelle Media Network that Somali soldiers had not sustained any death casualties in the attack on Tuesday.

He admitted there were slight injuries, but declined to give further details.
