Metropolitan Namibia donated sports equipment valued at N$8000 to the Karas Sport & Fun Project in Keetmashoop. The equipment consists of a portable volleyball net, volleyballs, soccer balls, cones, bibs and stop watches. The donation is part of Metropolitan’s efforts to encourage skills development in the Karas region, keeping young kids off the streets and away from harmful substances, especially in areas such as Keetmanshoop.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Governor of the Karas Region, Bernadus Swartbooi reiterated the importance of developing sports at the junior level, as the success of the national teams were dependent on building a strong foundation. He also commended the children for their commitment towards the programme.
