Safaricom Sakata Ball Challenge heads to Mombasa this weekend with the Coastal Regional finals set for Mbaraki Sports Club. The event has attracted 12 teams with four girls’ teams and eight boys. The tournament will kick off with the girls’ semi-finals pitting Falcon against Coast Queens in the opener before Moi Kanzonzo entertain Kilifi Mixed.

The boys’ edition will see two quarter-final matches played on Saturday with Kilifi Prison taking on Maweni in the first before paving way for the duel between Nameless FC and Ngangari. Redeemed High School will play Lamu All Stars on Sunday morning and will be followed by another quarter-final encounter pitting Shanzu Youth and Voi Young Stars.

The boys’ category winner will take home Sh100, 000 with the runners up raking up Sh50, 000 while the girl’s winning team will pocket Sh50,000 with runners-up walking away with Sh25,000 and a gift pack. Individual players will receive Safaricom goodies.

The Mombasa event is the second last in this year’s Sakata Ball Calendar where Nairobi is expected to host the final event later next month with the national final set for August at the Nyayo Stadium.
