National star Charles Waiswa, known for his left-arm bowling skills, faced his first ball with Patidar Samaj in murky waters at 136 for 8 but proceeded to knock the living daylights out of a blunt Charity attack for a powerful and chance-less 74.
His boundary-littered innings, arguably his career-best, condemned Charity to a 94-run loss at Lugogo oval on Sunday – the newly promoted side’s third consecutive loss in the National Cricket League after six games.
Waiswa added insult to injury when he snared Charity’s coach-player Davis Turinawe’s wicket with the first ball of the second innings. The rest was a formality as Charity stumbled to 148 while needing 243 to win.
