Gonzalez has played with clubs in Turkey and Argentina
Aberdeen are awaiting clearance to complete the loan signing of Manchester City goalkeeper David Gonzalez.
The Dons have negotiated a deal to bring the 28-year-old Colombian to Pittodrie for a six-month period.
Gonzalez joined City in January 2010 but is yet to make a first-team appearance and had a loan spell with Leeds United last season.
Chris Oldfield, a 20-year-old goalkeeper formerly on the books at Liverpool, is on trial with the Dons.
Manager Craig Brown aims to add two new shot-stoppers to his squad, with Jamie Langfield sidelined until October and Mark Howard released at the end of last season.
Keeper Matthew Jones has also been given a chance to impress.
Langfield suffered a seizure last month and while he has returned to light training with his team-mates he is out of competitive action until the autumn.
Former Coventry City midfielder Isaac Osbourne – who will sign for the Dons if he passes a medical – and Spanish midfielder Andoitz Galdos Gabas are also training at Pittodrie.
Brown has also given trials to striker Patrick Bengondo and defender Jason Beardsley.
