Asmara — A high-level delegation of NUEW headed by the Chairperson, Ms. Leul Gebreab, conducted a week-long working visit to China.
The visit at the invitation of All China Women’s Federation (ACWF), the delegation held meetings with Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairperson of All China Women’s Federation, as well as city administrators and others.
In the meetings, Ms. Leul gave briefings on the role of Eritrean women in the days of the armed struggle for independence, the activities of NUEW and the ongoing reconstruction endeavors in Eritrea and the contribution of women in this regard.
She also outlined the impressive development achievements registered on the basis of the principle of self reliance in the reconstruction of the war-ravaged infrastructure of the country.
The heads of All China Women’s Federation on their part highlighted the activities of the Federation and the stage the Chinese women reached. They also extended financial assistance towards strengthening the NUEW.
During its stay in China, the delegation observed the activities carried out by women, child nurturing centers and lifestyle of women farmers, as well as the contribution of Chinese nationals in the Diaspora.
