Pfag Sends Best Wishes To U23 Ahead Of Ghana’s Clash With Nigeria

Ghana U23 coach Akwasi Appiah is a key member of the PFAG

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has sent its best wishes to Ghana U23 coaches Akwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu ahead of the 2011 All Africa Games qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday.

The PFAG also sent its best wishes to the playing body ahead of the final qualifier for the competition to be held later this year.

The two coaches are members of the Ghanaian players union of which the assistant Black Stars coach is President.

This has prompted members of the welfare body to send them a good luck message ahead of the match in Benin City.

In statement signed by the General Secretary of the PFAG Tony Baffoe and supported by Abedi Pele, Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Sammy Kuffuor and many others, they urged the playing body led by captain Samuel Inkoom to settle for nothing but a win against the Nigerian Dream Team V.

The race to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo nears its conclusion this weekend with the first legs of five decisive ties will be played across the continent.

Like the Olympics, All Africa Games qualifiers are restricted to under-23 footballers.

The teams are looking to qualifiers Egypt, Madagascar and hosts Mozambique. One of the stand-out ties pits rivals Nigeria and Ghana against one another.
