Over 100 people were injured in clashes between Senegalese police and demonstrators in the capital, Dakar, during protests over plans to revise electoral law.

Thirteen police officers were among the 102 people hurt in the clashes Thursday, official say.

The police were hit in the face by stones.

“Apart from two demonstrators who were shot, the others are slightly injured,” a police official told the AFP news agency.

The eruption of anger, which even involved MPs from the ruling party, led President Abdoulaye Wade to scrap plans to add vice-presidential candidates to presidential tickets during the election planned for next February.
