Routledge joined QPR on loan from January and scored five times in his 20 appearances for the club as they won the Championship, but looks to be surplus to requirements at St James’ Park.
QPR boss Neil Warnock has said in the past that he hoped to keep Routledge but allegedly no deal could be agreed, and his parent club have offered him around the Premier League and Championship.
According to skysports.com, QPR remain interested in their former loanee, but he is also wanted by clubs in the Championship, including Nottingham Forest, now managed by ex-England boss Steve McClaren.
