The Head of Legal shall be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the organization on litigation and dispute resolution. The role reports to the CEO.

The role has the following responsibilities;

• Provide accurate, effective and timely legal advice, analysis and support for the company on litigation matters and dispute resolution of significant strategic and financial value to the organization
• Provide advice on litigation and dispute resolution processes and takes responsibility for the general direction in the resolution of disputes and litigation taking into account the commercial background and key legal issues
• Ensuring that the legal documents and other contractual documents are effectively drafted, reviewed, interpreted and vetted.
• Serve as company secretary at  executive and board meetings
• Assist in the training of the business on key litigation issues
• Act as lawyer for the organization in the District Court, Circuit Court, High Court and other judicial bodies.

Required Skills or Experience

Role specific qualification:

• Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB)
• 5-7 years experience at the bar
• Prior experience in a corporate legal environment a plus
• Good knowledge of the Ghana labor law
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Evidence of strong work ethics (punctuality, regularity, reliability)
