Richard Mwangi 22 June 2011 Nairobi — Cricket Kenya has withdrawn its disputed three-month contracts which the players had declined to sign. Tom Sears, CK's chief executive officer, said that after meeting with the players on Wednesday that it was mutually agreed that the stars will now be given one-year contracts which will be reviewed twice during their life spans to monitor the players' performance. He said that the first review will be carried out after the East African Premier League set to take off in August and the other review will be in February

The sport of golf is usually associated with testosterone filled men teeing off from one hole on the golf course to the other as they make business deals in the millions. Last Friday afternoon the sight of men at the Muthaiga Golf Club on Kiambu Road was unheard of as the ladies took over the greens.

They were here for the annual President Kibaki Invitational that has been running for the last eleven years with the head of state being represented by his daughter Judy. Judy Kibaki may not be a golfer with her time being spent in the gym but she represented her father in a most amiable manner.

After a sport of golf, the ladies from different golf clubs retired to the club for wine and lunch under the leadership this year’s Muthaiga Lady Captain Terry Obath. Terry is also the chairman of Help Age Kenya .The luncheon saw some of Kenya’s leading ladies have an afternoon chatting and getting to know one another. And hopefully making deals in the millions.
