Odindo Ayieko 22 June 2011 Nairobi — Western Stima plan a warm send-off for their striker Francis Chinjili on Saturday in the final of the Kenyan Premier League Top 8 at Nyayo National Stadium against Ulinzi Stars. Stima arrive in Nairobi by air on Thursday morning from Kakamega, a welcome departure from the laborious road trips. Chinjili, who has already signed for AFC Leopards, has been instrumental in Stima's charge to the final of the competition whose winner pockets Sh1 million.

Barding beat Mwer 5-0 to become the new Siaya district secondary school football champions. The hosts started the match on a winning note as Jeremiah “Bruce” Ochiel opened the scores barely 10 minutes into the match.

Rolex Odhiambo added two quick goals in the 25th and 30th minutes while Kevin Kusimba netted the fourth goal in the 42nd minute as Barding went to half time with a 4-0 lead. On resumption, Bernard Onyango hit the last nail in Mwer’s coffin after converting a penalty in the 80th minute. Earlier, Barding beat Obambo Mixed Day 2-0 in the semi-finals while Mwer cruised past Siaya Township with 1-0. In the girls’ football category, Ulafu beat Hawinga 1-0.

In volleyball boys, Agoro Oyombe dismissed Mwer 3-0 to lift the trophy while Obambo also thrashed Agoro Oyombe with a similar set margin to win the girls’ title. The winning teams qualify for the Siaya County Secondary Schools Term Two Games splanned for July 1-2 at Ambira High School.
