Luanda — The Constitutional Court (TC) paid homage on Wednesday in Luanda the Portuguese constitutionalist, José Joaquim Gomes Canotilho, for having helped Angola to prepare the revision of the 1991 constiturion, which introduced the law abiding state and multi-party system in the country.
This was said to Angop by the chief judge of the Constitutional Court, TC, Rui Ferreira.
Rui Ferreira praised Gomes Canotilho for having helped the country to prepare the primary ordinary laws on Laws and fundamental rights (1991), regarding the preparation of the constitutional revision of 1992.
The homage is part of the celebrations of the third anniversary of the Constitutional Court.
José Joaquim Gomes Canotilho was born in Pinhel in Portugal on 15 August 1941.
