Freetown — Managerless Birmingham City are the latest English club to be linked with an interest in signing Sierra Leone and AIK Stockholm striker, Mohamed Poborsky Bangura.
According to mirrorfootball, the relegated Premier League club are lining up a shock £2 million to acquire the striker away from the Swedish giants.
The mirrorfootball revealed that agents working for the Blues have been in contact with the Swedish side about the former FC Kallon striker who has been a success for AIK since he joined them last season.
The 21-year-old was spotted at a lower league club by AIK but has made a strong impact in the Swedish top division league and now Birmingham City has set their eyes on him courtesy of one of their European scouts.
Already the Blues’ hierarchy has been setting up moves for the striker even when former boss Alex McLeish was on his final days at the club. Bangura is said to be on their hit list as a possible arrival at the club.
Bangura is up for a move to England although he may have problems gaining a work permit because of Sierra Leone’s FIFA ranking. And AIK will sell him but Birmingham will face opposition from Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow, who have offered a deal to them for a quick buy.
