BY GBENGA OKE WHEN Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura defeated the former governor, Akwe Doma at the April polls, many observers of political developments in the state knew that Al-Makura has a big task ahead of him especially in the area of development of basic infrastructures in the state. Although Al-Makura has a good business and political background to turn things around, the governor will need the support of capable personalities and technocrats to face the economic and developmental challenges of the state. In the last four years, Nasarawa, in the opinion of  many observers, saw little or no development.

Ashley Young hopes to secure Manchester United‘s record 20th league title next season following his arrival from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old is the club’s second summer signing following the arrival of defender Phil Jones from Blackburn and has revealed his ambitions since penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

“To come here and play with such great players and have the chance to be part of a team that hopefully wins the 20th title would be amazing,” Young told MUTV.

“It is surreal, but I am delighted to be here.

“I am going to miss Villa, the fans, the manager and the staff, but to have the chance to come and play for one of the biggest clubs in the world is one that I could not turn down.”

Young admitted he was excited after hearing of Manchester United’s interest and insists he was prepared to switch clubs from the early running.

“United have that winning mentality and for myself as a player I have always wanted to be the best I can be. To come to a club like this you are always going to have challenges,” he said.

I want to win titles and hopefully I can be part of that this time.”

“You do get a buzz inside when told United have made a bid. You get a great feeling that one of the greatest managers in the world wants to sign you and one of the greatest clubs in the world wants to buy you.

“For me, as soon as I got the call, I wanted to get things sorted, get the papers signed and get in to training. We’re back on the July 4 and I can’t wait.”
