3 P/Works Employees Honored for Professionalism, Commitment

Three employees of the Ministry of Public Works have been honored for their hard work, professionalism and commitment to job. The honoring ceremony took place in the compound of the Ministry of Public Works in the presence of Senior Management and entire staff of the Ministry of Public Works.

Employees honored are Solomon Juah; a Driver in the Mobile Division, Oretha N. Wesseh, Attendance Analyst from the Human Resources and Training Division and James K. Sundaye, Administrative Assistant in the Department of Rural Development.

The ceremony also recognized some employees that graduated from various universities and short term training programs. Ninety-nine (99) employees had just graduated and over 39 have benefited from the Ministry of Public Works’ capacity building program, 54 benefited from the Ministry in-service computer training, and 6 others from the University of Liberia.

During special remarks, the Minister of Public works Samuel Kofi Woods, II congratulated the honorees and called on others to emulate the good examples of the honorees. Minister Woods also added that the honoring exercise is not only going to serve as a motivation, but also an inspiration to other employees of the Ministry to follow same. The Public Works Minister used the occasion to emphasize the continuity of such program and mandated the Human Resource Division to include this program into their annual work schedule.

The Public Works Minister who once served as Minister of Labor indicated that in as much as employees are punished for wrongdoing, it is only fair and befitting that those who have diligently performed their duties and responsibilities be fully appreciated for their selfless sacrifice.
