The Arusha chapter of the Tanzania Primary School Games Union (UMITASHUMTA, selected its regional team on June 15th at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium and Ilboru Secondary School grounds.
Contested games were football, netball, volleyball, and marathon. Districts which participated in the teams selections included Ngorongoro, Arusha Municipality, Arusha District, Longido, Monduli, Karatu and Meru.
Marathon for both girls and boys took place at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium while other games were played at Ilboru Secondary School. In football matches fixtures were: Monduli vs. Arusha district, Longido vs. Arusha Municipality, Karatu vs. Ngorongoro and Monduli vs. Meru.
The selected team will be traveling to Kibaha at the end of this month for the national UMITASHUMTA competition.
