Former Harambee Stars players beat Kwale Combined 4-2 during this year’s Vyakweli football tournament held at Bomani grounds over the weekend.

Immediate former national coach Jacob Mulee opened the scoring with Rodgers Odada adding a hat-trick for the former players. Kambweza Hamisi and Abdul Baraza scored a goal each for the losers in a match that curtain-raised for the final duel pitting Likoni’s Vimbwanga FC and Kishada FC. Vibwanga won the match 2-1 to pocket the Sh40, 000 on offer.

Shani Rindano opened the scoring after 21 minutes With Juma “Bonge” Seif adding another in the 58th minute. Mohamed Chida pulled one back for the losers towards the end of the match.

The runners-up walked away with Sh10,000 in the tournament sponsored by Mbaruk Vyakweli and Fidel Odinga Fidel. Odinga took the forum to convince Kenya Football Federation senior vice-chairman Twaha Mbarak to work together with Hussein Mohamed ahead of the forthcoming football election.
