Hamburg have responded to speculation linking winger Eljero Elia with a summer exit by stating the player will remain in Germany.According to reports, Chelsea are preparing an offer in the region of €20 million (£17.5m) to lure the Dutchman away from the Bundesliga outfit.

However, Elia has a contract until 2014 with Hamburg and, despite already threatening to leave the club last winter, he is expected to stay, amid reported interest from four English clubs, including Chelsea.

Hamburg spokesman Jorn Wolf was quoted as saying by Mopo: “There is definitely no offer for Eljero Elia, neither from Chelsea nor from another club. We are planning for the upcoming season with this player.”

Meanwhile, Hajduk Split forward Ivan Lendric is reportedly close to a move to the German side.

The 19-year-old has spent the past season on loan at Bosnian outfit Zrinjski Mostar and was the Bosnian Premier League’s top scorer, with 16 goals to his name.

It is expected that they will pay the Croatian side around

€1 million (£880,000) for his services.
