20 June 2011 Luanda — Lack of national books, especially children's, for visually impaired people in the country, has caused many writers to react against this deficit and appeal for better solutions to the situation. According to the writer Maria Celestina Fernandes, the society and the Ministries of Culture and Education, particularly, should be concerned about the lack of books in Braille, taking into account the high number of visually impaired people. "There is a need to remember this section of the society", said the writer, in the sidelines of a meeting of the National Library, in Luanda.

Field Managers – Nucleus Operations

The Role:
These are Senior Staff positions and the successful candidates will be responsible for the management of field Headmen, Overseers and Technical Officers for optimum output in the Company’s nucleus plantations

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Sc Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent from a recognised University
  • The ideal candidates must have 3-5 years experience in field operations
  • Knowledge of rubber cultivation and experience in labour management will be an advantage

 

 

Field Managers – Rubber Out-Grower Unit

The Role:
These are Senior Staff positions and the successful candidates will manage a team of Extension Officers who will provide technical support and advice to out-grower farmers

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Sc Degree in Agriculture or its equivalent from a recognised University
  • The ideal candidates must have 3-5 years experience in field operations
  • Knowledge of rubber cultivation and experience in labour management will be an advantage

 

Projects Engineer

he Role:
This an Executive level position. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the designing and execution of major projects in the Company’s Processing Plant to meet future expansion and customer requirements.

  • Additionally, he/she shall design and execute the installation of production machinery and equipment in the appropriate ergonomic flow for effective production and maintenance

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Building Technology from a recognised university with a Post-graduate Certificate in Project Management
  • The successful candidate must have at least six (6) years of progressive experience in formulating, supervising and managing projects, especially factory lay-outs.
  • He/she must have practical knowledge in the use of AUTOCAD. Membership of the Ghana Institute of Engineers is an advantage

 

 

Buyer

The Role:
This a Senior Staff position and the incumbent will report to the Commercial Manager.

  • He/she will manage the purchasing team and support the Commercial Manager in the procurement of all materials needed by the various divisions and departments in the company
  • He/she shall be expected to implement procurement procedures for the efficient purchasing of materials and negotiate and administer the purchasing contracts

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Sc Degree in Business Administration or Commerce a recognised university with a professional qualification in Purchasing and Logistics from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
  • He/she must have at least 2 years experience in similar role in a reputable organisation
