Chelsea are prepared to meet the £13.2 million release clause in the contract of Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas, according to Jornal de Noticias.

The Blues have been without a manager since the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti on the final day of last season, but Villas-Boas emerged as the leading contender to replace the Italian on Monday.

Despite reports suggesting the coach had already flew to London to discuss the move, he is believed to be ready to hold talks with Chelsea on Tuesday.

Villas-Boas will take his own backroom staff to Stamford Bridge, with physical trainer Jose Mario Rocha and opponent observer Daniel Sousa set to join him from Porto.

The move would see Villas-Boas returning to the London side, having been a scout for the club under Jose Mourinho.
