Inter president Massimo Moratti is defiant that the club’s star players will not be leaving San Siro. Maicon, Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder have all been mooted with moves away from the former European Champions but Moratti insists the Serie A side will not be selling.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “All I can say regarding the transfer rumours about Eto’o, Sneijder and Maicon is that I have spoken to them and they have all told me that they do not want to leave the club.”

Dutch midfielder Sneijder continues to attract attention that he could abandon the peninsula for a move to England or even a shock return to Spain. Sneijder has hardly dampened the speculation, telling the press: “I love Inter with all my heart, but only God will decide where my future lies.”

Online bookmaker Unibet has calculated the odds on the likelihood of where Sneijder will be plying his trade after the transfer window closes. Remaining at Inter is currently trading @ 1.60.

    Chelsea @ 4.0

Tearing the Blues apart at Stamford Bridge in 2010 has ensured Sneijder’s stock remains high in England and at Chelsea in particular. Guus Hiddink’s much anticipated return to the Londoners as boss now appears to be off but will that have scuppered Chelsea’s ability to lure his compatriot? Considering that Roman Abramovich is spending big again on Torres, Luiz and a likely release clause for manager Andre Villas-Boas means a move for Sneijder can’t be ruled out either.

    Manchester United @ 4.0

Sir Alex Ferguson has been a fan of Sneijder since he broke into the Ajax first team almost a decade ago. Manchester United desperately need a creative midfielder following the retirement of Paul Scholes and after being outclassed by Barcelona in the Champions League final will be expected to bring in quality. Sneijder fits the bill perfectly.

    Manchester City @ 6.0

City are always linked with the world’s best players and a daring capture of Sneijder is well within their grasp. Linking up with his friend and international team-mate Nigel de Jong certainly gives City an advantage over local rivals United and Sneijder would create goals all day long for an attacking line-up of Carlos Tevez and old Inter team-mate Mario Balotelli. If the move boils down to money then there can only be one winner – and it is not United.

    Real Madrid @ 15.0

In the summer of 2009 the talented Dutchman exited the Santiago Bernabeu under a cloud after a disappointing second season in Spain. A move back to Madrid is unlikely even if Sneijder remains a favourite of the club’s manager Jose Mourinho. Real Madrid aren’t a club which often admit they got things wrong and they are unlikely to start now. Besides, their galaxy of midfield talent means Sneijder would not be a guaranteed starter anyway.
