Angola: Commander Calls for More Inspection Along Border

20 June 2011 Kuito — The government of the central Bié province honoured this weekend in Kuito district 12 physicians from Cuban and Russian nationality, for their contribution to medical assistance provided in that region. The homage happened during a dinner offered by the provincial government in recognition of the work carried by the physicians that ended their mission in Bié province. At the occasion, the deputy governor of Bié for political and social matters, Afonso Jorge Chipoia Assafe, recognised the efforts of the physicians in medically assisting the population of the province.

Mbanza Kongo — The commander of the Angolan National Police (PNA) in the northern Zaire province, commissioner Francisco Massota, called on Monday in Mbanza Kongo city for the staff of inspection and border police to reinforce inspection and surveillance along the border with the DR Congo (DRC).

The commander said so to Angop while speaking at the opening of the consultative council of the National Police.

Francisco Massota said that only with inspection and reinforced surveillance the police will prevent border violations that have been occurring in the border between Angola and DRC.

According to him, inspection and border police should reinforce inspection and surveillance of all goods that enter the national territory, coming from the DR Congo, among other countries.
