Luanda — Founded in 1979, the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) voted on Thursday to choose its sixth chairperson, in an act in which the preferences tend to be for the head of list A, Pedro Neto.
Pedro Neto, who is also a former footballer, will have his victory confirmed on June 23, for it is only then that the results must be officially published, as demanded by the electoral law.
The previous board, led by Justino Fernandes, had to interrupt their term in office, which was supposed to finish in 2012, after FAF members demanded early elections.
Justino Fernandes was FAF chairman for three terms, since 1999.
